PRESS: Russia’s new anti-Turkey sanctions target hotels, builders
MOSCOW, Dec 16 (PRIME) -- The Russian government is preparing measures to punish Turkey even more for downing a plane in November, targeted against construction services, tourism sector, timber industry and civil pilot training, business daily Kommersant reported Wednesday, citing a government’s draft order.
Russia earlier prohibited supplies of several kinds of Turkish food, abandoned some joint projects and limited the employment opportunities for Turkish people.
A federal government official told Kommersant that the new order will prohibit issuing transaction certificates for deals with Turkish companies, which will make payments impossible. By virtue of the order, Turkish companies will become unable to participate in state purchases in Russia.
The official said that the limitations will firstly concern new contracts but they can be extended to already existing ones.
